Daniel P. Mooney focuses his practice in the areas of criminal defense for all felony and misdemeanor charges, DWI/DUI citations, incarcerable traffic citations, and parole and probation violations.
Mr. Mooney became an attorney in 2021 after serving as the firm’s sole law clerk for eight years. He specializes in high-stakes criminal proceedings that intersect with complex evidentiary issues, including DNA, forensic science, and cellular technology. Since joining the Maryland bar, Mr. Mooney has tried approximately fifteen jury trials to verdict (more than half of which included charges carrying a maximum penalty of life in prison) and won five homicide cases across Baltimore City and Baltimore County. In 2026, the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys' Association recognized Mr. Mooney with the Young Lawyer of the Year Award based on his accomplishments within his first five years of practice. Outside of his trial work, Mr. Mooney represents clients at parole revocation hearings before the Maryland Parole Commission at prisons across the state.
In 2021, Mr. Mooney graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. There, he was a member of the National Trial Team, National Moot Court Team, Moot Court Board, and Maryland Law Review. Upon graduation, the school selected Mr. Mooney as a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barristers. In 2018, Mr. Mooney graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
